disappearing people. Current mood: confused Category: Romance and Relationships So, if you have 2 dates, and then ther person doesn't return your phone calls, for a week, and removes themself as a friend... You figure it's over. Right? Well, the thing that kills me is why? Granted, I'm glad to not be getting further attached to someone that could be that rude, but still. There is some closure issues that need to be dealt with. Those who know me, know I'm an engineer. And as an engineer, you like to know why things work/happen. And when something like this happens, and engineer is totally cought off guard, and he is thrown into a tailspin for a bit, as the assumption that he makes, and decisions based thereof, all come into question. Anomolous and incomplete data has been known to drive engineers insane. At this point social politeness as well as all other social graces can quite easily be disregarded by an engineer in attempts to find the missing piece of the puzzle. Add to this computer skills, and it can be quite scary to think what an engineer could do to find the missing information. At least I have a modicum(sp) of self control, and common sense that many engineers could easily have disregared in their youth as frivalous(sp). Perhaps that's what makes me special... Dragging ass Current mood: sleepy Category: Life God damn am I tired... I've been dragging my ass around for the last 3 days... drag myself out of bed.. to work.. drag myself home.. I'm probably fighting something.. but nowing doesn't help. A good friend suggested some vitamins... I think i'll follow that advice. Fuck, I'm exausted... I was so bad on teusday... wet shoes Damn did it rain on friday. My shoes were wet. My socks were wet, I was wet, but I had a date! I was going to see clerks 2! I had the tickets already! I get a phone call... she is flooded in... Flooded in? She said she was trying to get out driving for an hour+.. with no luck, and her friend ran out of gas and needed help... no movie.. no $20 for the movie(cause i already bought the tickets).. no good time with a sweet and pretty girl. Ah! I will come to her! More rain. more flooding. I now understand the true meaning of "come hell or high water," because i did it.. I faced it. I got to her house. We went to dinner at a nice place. The waiter spoke little english i think.. and I speak even less spanish, but I relied on her to order.. and she did without making me feel bad or anything.. Do you have any idea how hard it is for me to rely on someone for something? DAMNED HARD. But I trusted her.. it was weird.. it's like I could trust her with anything, and she didn't let me down. Dinner was nice, but we both still wanted to see the movie.. so, I say let's go, and we head to a theater, and there were no close showtimes... so we called it a night... Disasterous date to be sure. First Date Current mood: ecstatic Category: Life First let me say, I'm not much of a blogger, but when something goes right, I want to tell the world. This happened last night. See, there is this girl I met on Yahoo personals, and we've been e-mailing a bit, and last night, spur of the moment we decide to go for a margarita. I was slightly unshaven, and not prepared, but I figured if she likes me this way, I'll be impressive when cleaned up! So off I go.. After a few minutes of waiting at the place, a very beautiful girl walks up to me and smiles and says, "Allen?" I was impressed, but I didn't let on. At least I don't think I did... I can sometimes be "Vibey," as one person put it. Meaning I let on how I'm feeling with body language, and tone of speach.. so... Anyway, we get the drinks, and we have a light dinner, and we talked and laughed and had a really great time. We discussed everything soup to nuts. Movies, Politics, cars, the War, 9-11, death, life, Religion.. all the other things you don't talk about in "polite" conversation. Thankfully we left out the Great Pumpkin(as per Linus's advice "There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin.") 2 outa 3 ain't bad... We talked for hours, and eventually gave up our table, and went outside to talk some more. I showed her my scooter.. She showed me her car. We made a date for friday. The whole evening was just great, I've never had such a good time with a "near stranger." Also, as an aside, as she was driving away, I heard a woman screaming in the restaurant.. I took off running to find two Asian younger men, fighting, I went in to break it up, but it was over by the time I got there. But the one dude was still screaming at the other dude, for a good five minutes, all sorts of bad things, when I left the situation, there was more than enough people to keep the peace. I really need to keep my nose out of other people business.. this good semaritan shit might get me killed one day.
